A Beautifully Designed and Carved Nightstand
Each beautiful nightstand contains a unique design by Northwest-area artist Terry Anderson. Terry begins with carving the design into the wood which is then painted with vivid acrylic colors; this combination gives every piece a stained-glass look. The borders of each piece contain a bit of poetry. Finally the carved and painted nightstand is sealed with a Polycrylic sealant which protects the surface.
Verse: “The sky is dark, the hills are white. The storm king speeds from the north tonight. And with the song, the storm king sings, as over the world his cloak he flings”.
Simply clean spills with a damp cloth or sponge.
A bit about the artist:
Terry’s current work symbolizes his journey full-circle back to his roots as an artist. Training in commercial art at the Burnley School of Art in Seattle in the early 1970’s, Terry worked in advertising until he joined the Boeing Company as an illustrator. Terry continued to leverage his design background as an instructor and course developer with the Boeing Company across a variety of topics with a focus on three-dimensional CAD design.
In 2000 he hopped out of the corporate world to become a stay-at-home dad for his two Russian-adopted sons. This allowed him the opportunity to return to his passion for art, producing hand-crafted furniture through his small business TerryDesigns Studio. Terry lives in a quiet coastal town in Manzanita Oregon. Along with his sons, he has three grown daughters that all live in the Puget Sound area.
